I began making my little clay house sculptures in the autumn of 2024 as a way to get myself out of my head and into my body- a mental health self-care exercise. The response to my work at the holiday craft shows I participated in buoyed my spirits and propelled me to build a body of work for the coming year, learning as I go. The houses are made to remind us of a mystical, magical past, time spent in little villages- simpler times. They incorporate plant and animal motifs, and sometimes include wood and fabric embellishments. Thank you.
