It takes a certain constitution to live and paint in the Northwest. Mountains, forests, ocean, and unrelenting rain… it’s an amount of grey you can’t fathom until you’ve survived a ten month winter here. Whether engulfed in or emerging from the grey, I am consumed by the region and have a particular affinity for its small towns and the people who live in them. You gotta be tough to live out west. Watercolor lends itself well to that story, and I feel compelled to tell it with every painting.
