I am a textile artist who weaves, dyes, felts tapestries and wearables.
I started sewing and selling my textiles as a nine year old, going door to door with my hand made aprons. As an art major in college, I was introduced to hand weaving and my love affair with textiles became firmly locked in me for life. I am inspired by color and texture and the folk arts of Mexico, South America, and other ancient cultures. Whether woven, dyed, and/or felted or fused, my work expresses my love of color and texture often along with a touch of whimsy or kitsch. "I make stuff because I get sad if I don't"-- this quote from Portland graphic designer, Will Bryant, says it all.
