The maps that comprise my collection are politically, historically, and locally significant. Maps dating to 1555 have historical perspective, while others such as early Portland maps are interesting and significant in their local lens. The stories told of human understanding of their surroundings, and in some cases, misunderstanding creates a conversation that I want to share with others.
