Sarah Van Halder,
Ceramic artist

I explore a variety of techniques when I make my jewelry. I often use a mold made from found objects to create texture. The simple shapes are cut out by hand and then sanded until smooth. Gilding and resin are painted as part of the finishing process. In the end, these steps blend both the vintage and handmade aesthetics that are important in my work. The pieces are ceramic with small incorporations of mixed media, and, all metal is stainless steel.
