MJ Connors Davison,
Mixed Media Artist
Collage: applied to works on paper and textiles
I’m a Cross-Disciplinary Artist inviting viewers into various dynamic narratives of place and time, visually balancing harmony and tension in bold mixed media collages and recombined textile pieces. I work solo, as well as collaboratively through commissions and community-based projects. Throughout the year, I offer collage workshops to teens and adults. Nature, symbolism, and sacred geometry are the sources of inspiration for all that I do. Originally from the Midwest, I received my BFA in Crafts from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, followed by my MFA in Book Arts & Printmaking from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA. I’ve gained my professional experience while living in Philadelphia, New York, San Francisco, and since 2009, here in Portland. SFMOMA, MoMA NYC, The Victoria & Albert Museum, and The Smithsonian Library have my work in their collections, as do many colleges, universities and private patrons.
