Collage: applied to works on paper and textiles
I’m a versatile, artist, designer, and teacher working in both two and three dimensions. Primarily, I create bold mixed media collages and recombined textile pieces. Home decor and jewelry design are occasional hobbies. I also enjoy teaching collage workshops throughout the year. Nature, symbolism, and sacred geometry are the sources of inspiration, whether for personal bodies of work, commissions, or teaching. Originally from the Midwest, I received my BFA in Crafts from Kent State University, Kent, Ohio, followed by my MFA in Book Arts & Printmaking from The University of the Arts, Philadelphia, PA. I’ve gained my professional experience, both in learning and teaching, while living in Philadelphia, New York, SanFrancisco, and for the last decade, here in Portland. SFMOMA, MoMA NYC, The Victoria & Albert Museum, and The Smithsonian Library have my work in their collections, as do many colleges, universities and private patrons.
