Mars Hell,
Mixed Media Artist

Keeping art & sa·πÖgha alive is my true ambition. Can't stop me now!

Marlena Simone a.k.a.: Mars Hell.
Believe in yourself and you will accomplish your dreams.
"If I have the belief that I can do it, I shall surely acquire the capacity to do it even if I may not have it at the beginning."
Mahatma Gandhi.
This quote definitely flows in harmony with the way I feel about how I persue creating & showing my art. If I believe that I can, then if not today then one day I will at least have the abilty to reach my goals in art.
Working with my talent and intuition I am almost always satisfied with my work.
What I choose to put as subjects in my work is of personal motivation, usually under the category of spirituality, fantasy, and science fiction.
My personal medium of choice is acrylic paint. My second personal favorite is photography. My third is fabric. My fourth is mixed media.
Around Portland I've been showing my work in group shows since 2007.* During this time, I've been privileged enough to have been granted two solo exhibits of my work. Once I was commissioned to paint a mural with a group of children at Reynolds Middle School. Something that I'm very proud of is my apprenticeship with 100th Monkey Studio through their Art S(c)ool program where I was taught to teach art classes to children.
This coming summer I plan to travel around the U.S.A. seeking out spots to show my art on the street, at festivals, & galleries. This is something that you will be updated on for sure!
