Growing up near downtown Portland with a designer and an architect for parents, Lia Shaw has been exposed to creativity her whole life. She began drawing at the age of four while doodling with her dad every night at the dinner table. Lia has developed her style throughout various summer and high school art classes.
Lia’s style can be described as graphic and bold, with soft undertones and attention to detail. Her interests in geometric patterns and linear lines of cities and buildings mixed with the curves of fabrics, people, and nature are reflected in her work. She likes to draw people and faces as well as designing clothes and outfits. Her favorite media are thin pens or freshly sharpened pencils on paper.
Lia enjoys being involved with design events such as attending Portland Fashion Week, participating in Design Week, and interning at a graphic design firm. She will pursue her career and continue her love of design at Oregon State in the fall.
