kmgpottery is a small-batch ceramics business. All of the pieces are made entirely by myself in Portland, Oregon. I make modern, functional pieces meant to be used every day: mugs, bowls, cups, plates, vases, etc. For these pieces, I lean toward clean lines and simple forms. I also love to explore the dichotomy of old and new: rough, ancient surfaces next to smooth, contemporary lines. I love to work with interesting textures in a subdued color palette. My intent is to make pottery that is beautiful, feels wonderful in your hands, and is a joy to use. I hope that, thousands of years from now, broken bits of my work are found deep in the soil across the world.
