Silvania is the revival of my grandmother's fabric business which she started in the 1950's in Lima, Peru. She took inspiration from precolonial Peruvian motifs and turned them into her own colorful prints on cotton products. I brought her designs to my hometown of Portland, Oregon, where I use the same hand-printing technique my grandmother used to print fabric for clothing, accessories, and home goods.
