I studied art in college but ended up in a 40 plus year banking career. My retirement began just as the pandemic hit. Then, the fires ensued and engulfed us in smoke. Stuck inside for days,I pulled out my art cart that sat unused for almost 10 years and began to create. I started with pastel drawings of the 10 Portland bridges then moved on to acrylics and have been painting every day since.

I kiddingly refer to my current pieces as the Covid Collection, grateful that something good has come out of these dark days which has renewed my passion for creating vibrant, colorful art. My business name Nuovo Inizio Art is Italian for New Beginning. Contact at lainepratt@gmail.com
