Abstract expressionism with a modern twist

Abstract expressionism was a movement or shift in the art world which grew up in New York City in the 1940’s and 1950’s as part of a mid-century revolution. Painters attacked their works with expressions of vivid color and abstract forms. This new style was said to be a result of the post-war mood of anxiety and trauma. The epicenter of modern art began to alter its focus from Paris to New York. At CraigBstudios Craig Boretz continues with the tradition of these original American avant-garde painters by sharing brilliant and often emotionally moving works.
