Hiss Buzz Hum is a vibrant collection of cards, prints and original art inspired by the brilliant colors and patterns in nature—bugs, birds and other creatures nestled among tropical plants and flowers. I’m drawn to the amazing spectacle of colors, patterns and shapes in nature. It’s impossible to out-design Mother Nature, but I can’t resist creating my own species with paint and bits of paper from my hoard – everything from the origami paper I’ve had since I was a kid, to recycled wrapping paper, to fancy art paper, to scraps I find on the street. My techniques are old-school (painting, drawing, collage) but I want the results to be fresh and fun, and to appeal to all ages. I produce one-of-a-kind pieces, as well as paper items that feature my art. Whenever possible, I use recycled and sustainably sourced paper.
