Updates for May

Dear UAN Artists,

Regretfully, it seems clear that we will not be able to gather for First Thursday in May. In light of this and the many challenges our artists are facing, Urban Art Network volunteers are hard at work generating ideas and finding solutions to support artists. Please join us in these efforts!

Mission Gallery

On this Friday, May 1st, Urban Art Network will launch the Mission Gallery, an online gallery with a purpose. We have received several beautiful works and we are excited to begin to share them. We will feature each donated piece on our social media and they will also be assembled together in the online Mission Gallery on our website.

Each piece sold will be split 50/50 between its artist creator and one of 3 organizations affected by Covid-19. This months organizations include: Botanist House, Central City Concern, and Urban Art Network's Individual Artist Fund. The patron can choose the organization receiving the donation at the time of purchase.

We are still accepting donations. If you have a piece you would like to donate please send an email with a title, materials, dimensions, total price (artist will receive 50%) and up to 3 high-resolution photos to missiongallery@urbanartnetwork.org

Individual Artist Funding

With only four days remaining, please continue to share our individual artist fundraising request for Hazel Glass.

Summer 2020

Urban Art Network has reached out to the City of Portland to begin a conversation about starting up the Street Gallery this summer, and the guidelines needed for that to happen. Upcoming newsletters will share the progress and any information we have about when and what that possibility will look like.

We hope you will participate and share in these fundraising efforts. Although we are a small organization, we are 20 years strong, and together we can be a mighty force. Please join us in helping and supporting our amazing community.

Please know that although we are not together in the Street Gallery, we are committed to having a positive impact on the needs of our artists. Take great care, and please reach out to us with ideas, questions, concerns, or to touch base.

Looking forward,
Urban Art Network
