June 2020 Updates

Dear UAN Artists,

While it seems that we will not yet be able to gather for First Thursday in June, we are beginning to see the light! We are in close contact with the City of Portland and the Pearl District Business Association. We have applied for the Healthy Business Permit and we are anticipating opportunities for our artists as Multnomah County enters the phase one opening. We do expect the early stages of reopening the Street Gallery to be smaller, and very different from our typical events. We will move swiftly as more favorable conditions develop and we will keep you informed as we gain understanding about exactly what form our events can take in this cautious process.

Website Updates

This month we will be launching an updated website that is easier access and navigate. We are excited to present a more streamlined platform for the organization. This update will be of great benefit to our future projects.

Mission Gallery and Individual Artist Funding

These programs which are designed exclusively to support artists have not yet found an audience. We are continuing our sharing of and dedication to these programs and ideas, but at this time we are suspending growing these programs until we are able to achieve some proven successes.

The Individual Artist Fundraising has not yet been able to fully fund any of our first 3 artists modest funding requests. We are focusing on meeting their needs before including future artists. You can find and share the fundraising requests here,  https://urbanartnetwork.org/article/individual-artist-funding

On May 1st, Urban Art Network launched the Mission Gallery, an online gallery with a purpose. We have several truly beautiful works under 200.00, which we have featured on our social media and are assembled together on our website. You can find and share the gallery here: https://urbanartnetwork.org/mission-gallery

We are asking that you please share this information wherever you can in solidarity with working artists who need extra support at this time. We very much want to continue these programs, but we need your support.
