Linda Tross - Nature, Interpreted

At Gallery 114

Thu, Mar 01 to Wed, Mar 28

Opening March 1, 6-9pm

In her show, "Nature, Interpreted," Linda Tross offers paintings and ceramic sculpture that give deep focus to nature and ways of seeing it. In images that are not really about "representation" of landscape, she draws on memory to refocus on places seen in instants of change. Large-scale forces of movement and change through time--geological formations, light and dark, weather, sea, glaciers--are frequent references in her work. Moments in time fixed in imagery are for her interpretations and, paradoxically, a limited, human way of grasping the seemingly limitless renewal and inventiveness of nature.

In the South Gallery several other Gallery 114 artists will contribute works in various media to "Nature, Interpreted": Myra Clark, Jeff Leake, Mary Jo Mann, Curtis Settino, David Slader, and Rachael Zur.
