Vagary

At Artists Repertory Theatre

Tue, Mar 07 to Sat, May 06

show

Geezer Gallery is proud to present:  VAGARY
an exhibition in correspondence with Artists Repertory Theatre’s premiere FEATHERS AND TEETH by Charise Castro Smith

ARTIST RECEPTION: March 15, 6:30pm

Join us to view the talented collaboration of works by Dianne Jean Erickson, Devin Bernard, Gene Flores, Chayo Wilson, and Francene Levinson for this spring exhibition.

Reflected in the work of our five selected artists is the theme of conflicting light and dark, beauty and monstrousness. With a range of works including paintings, encaustic, hand-painted prints, and intricate sculptures, a sense of delicacy is captured that challenges the dark subject matters of many of the pieces. This reflects the fragility of the relationships and impending doom we anticipate in the outcome of the characters portrayed in Smith’s FEATHERS AND TEETH. Side by side, these juxtaposed elements elevate the meaning of the works from something familiar to something far more impenetrable.
