Christopher B. Wagner, Paul X. Rutzis, Amy Ruedinger, Stirling Gorsuch

At Guardino Gallery

Thu, Mar 29 to Tue, Apr 24

show

Opening Reception: First Thursday, March 29, 6-9 pm

DISTORTIONS
Christopher B. Wagner focuses on the creation of figurative sculptures
carved from reclaimed lumber. He is interested in distorting the human
figure.; changing proportions, stretching or squashing the form.

Paul X. Rutzis paints in oils. Where he departs the traditional is in the
sculpting moves from his collaborator, Christopher Wagner, carving into
wood panel to distort the traditional rectangle that paintingsn usually occupy.

FEATURE AREA
Amy Ruedinger hammers copper. She changes a hard flat material into
three-dimensional forms. A few of her pieces are made from old copper
etching plates. The image mostly gets hammered away but it adds an
invisible history, surface texture and former idea within the piece.

Stirling Gorsuch’s printmaking show specializes in process of relief
printing and monotypes. His recent work documents the changing landscape
in areas which have been affected by recent wildfires.
